Building a pool is a significant undertaking. It involves permits, engineering, excavation, structural work, plumbing, electrical systems, and finish trades — all coordinated over a period of weeks, in your backyard, affecting your daily life. Done poorly, it is a source of anxiety, frustration, and disappointment. Done by RenPools, it is a smooth, clearly communicated process that produces exactly what was promised, delivered on time and to an impeccable standard of quality.
We believe that transparency is a form of respect. You deserve to know exactly what is happening on your property, at every stage, and why. You deserve a project manager who returns calls the same day, who communicates proactively rather than reactively, and who holds the workmanship on your project to the same standard they would demand for their own home. This is how RenPools operates — not as a policy, but as a culture.
Every RenPools project is governed by engineered structural plans that are reviewed and approved before construction begins. Every rebar installation is inspected before shotcrete is applied.
Most RenPools pool projects are completed within four to six weeks of permit issuance, depending on the scope and complexity of the build. Custom pools with elaborate water features, complex stone work, or significant outdoor living components may take slightly longer, and we will outline a specific projected timeline for your project before construction begins. We do not pad timelines to create the illusion of efficiency, and we do not compress timelines in ways that compromise quality. The timeline we give you reflects an honest assessment of what it takes to build your project correctly.
The following stages outline the standard construction sequence for a RenPools pool project. Exact durations vary by project, but the sequence and the quality standards at each stage do not.
In the Austin area, permitting requirements and timelines vary by municipality. The City of Austin, Travis County, and the various suburban municipalities of the metro area each have their own processes, fees, and inspection protocols. RenPools knows these systems thoroughly and manages the permitting process entirely on your behalf. You will not need to make a single call to a city office or fill out a single form. We handle all of it, and we keep you informed of the permit status throughout the process.
With permits in hand, our crew arrives to lay out the exact footprint of the pool on your property. Using the approved plan set as our guide, we mark the precise shape of the pool, the location of the equipment pad, and the routing of all underground plumbing and electrical conduit. This layout is reviewed against the plan set before any excavation begins.
We take care during site preparation to protect existing landscaping, irrigation systems, and hardscape features that are not part of the demolition scope.
Excavation is the stage that makes the project feel real. Our excavation equipment removes the soil to the precise depth and profile required by the engineered plans. The excavated soil is removed from the property promptly and the excavation is inspected before we proceed.
In some Austin-area locations, excavation encounters rock — particularly in the Hill Country and certain areas of West Austin where the limestone substrate is close to the surface.
